Hi and welcome to my stop on the Hero Arts 2013 Catalog Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from the fabulous BasicGrey Blog. If you're just joining us please head back to Hero Arts to start from the top so you don't miss a thing.
I always love seeing how stamps can be used in different ways so today I'm sharing "his & her" cards that each feature the same stamp -- the new Big Typewriter cling stamp (CG511). I kept them both very clean and simple in style but mixed up the colors and embellishments for entirely different looks.
Here's a closer look at the "she" version -- a retro pink typewriter (ooolala!) with some baker's twine and Rock Candy Stickles on the keys. Sparkly keys would definitely make typing more fun, yes? :)
And here's the "he" version -- decidedly masculine in kraft and black, with a touch of twine and metallic dots. The stripes at the bottom were created by stamping the new Pinstripe Background (S5729) onto the bottom quarter of the card with gray ink.
One fun trick with this typewriter stamp is how you can trim around it so that the paper curls. I shaped the paper around my little bottle of Stickles for a bit and the curve held up quite well. In this closeup you'll also catch a glimpse at two other new-for-2013 message sets -- Thanks a Bunch (CL663) and My Favorite (CL651). Lots and lots of great sentiments are included in both!
And here's a peek at all of the new stamps I used so that you can see what else is included in each set. I can't wait to use these on more cards soon -- nothing like new stamps to get the creativity flowing!
Thanks so much for visiting. Your next hop stop will be the amazingly talented Nichol Magouirk. If you encounter a broken link while hopping, you can go back to the beginning for links to everyone who's participating. Be sure to comment on each blog for a chance to win some awesome prizes from Hero Arts too!
Have a great day...and happy hopping! :)
